Inspired
Ok, so this isn't exactly to do with crafting, but it is to do with a simple life. I yesterday received one of the latest River Cottage handbooks - Hedgerow. It introduces you to some of the lesser known wild foods that are out there. I am now chomping at the bit to get out there and start searching for food. I already go berry picking but I am so excited by what else is out there!

A New Arrival
Not long ago, we had the happy news that a new baby has been born in the family. TO congratulate them, I made this card

Mum's Birthday
My lovely Mum just had her birthday. I made her a card and also one for Nan to give her.
From a Friend
An old work colleague put out an announcement on Facebook that she was going to create handmade gifts for the first five people to reply. I was the very first person and she made me this heart to remind me that others hold me dear to theirs.

Mum's Christmas Card
With all the decorations sadly taken down, I've finally managed to take a photo of the card I made for Mum. It's the first homemade card she's had from me since I was a little girl.
I'm pleased with it. I hope you like it too.

2011
This is going to be a big year for me in some respects. After three very long years of doing up a flat, I am finally going to be able to move into it. My first home on my own. I am looking forward to it, but admittedly, it is a bit scary. But I won't be far away from my family.
It will give me the chance to make my mark on the World. My flat is very much going to be "me" and I can have fun experimenting in the kitchen and hopefully get a sewing machine to play with.
I plan to research setting up a business making and selling things. I have been self employed before, but that was as a freelancer, so this would be completely different to what I have done previously.
I still in my heart-of-hearts, would love to start a new life in Amercia and this isn't an area I'm prepared to give up on.

Some Homemade Christmas Offerings
Chistmas is always a pretty homemade affair in my Mum's house. I like to help out where I can. The past couple of years I have started doing flavoured vodkas. This year's offerings included blackberry, lime and orange and some sloe gin. The best thing is the blackberries and sloes were picked from the hedgerows around work during my lunch breaks.
I also made some bracelets for Mum and Nan as some gifts. These are fresh water pearls, smokey quartz and clear quartz and garnet chips.
